How we make money

Prep Not Panic is independent and free to read. We earn money in three ways, and this page is the complete list. Nothing on this site is ranked, recommended or worded because of who pays.

1. A small commission on some kit links

When a kit page links to a retailer and you buy something, we may earn a small commission. The price is the same for you. We choose what to recommend before we know whether there's a link for it, the recommendation is always written from the published standard first, and every page with such links says so plainly at the top. There is always a non-affiliate route — usually "any supermarket".

As of August 2026, no affiliate links are live yet: the recommendations came first, and the links will follow once the programmes are approved.

2. One labelled sponsor in the weekly email

The Ready Brief may carry a single sponsor slot, clearly marked "Supported by". Sponsors never see an issue before subscribers do, never appear in the editorial, and never influence what we write. If that ever feels compromised, the slot goes.

3. The Ready Body programme, later

The five tests and the free programme stay free. A paid, coached version of the 12-week Ready Body programme may come later; if it does, it will be reviewed by a qualified coach and priced plainly.

What we don't do

• No display adverts, ever. They ruin pages and pay pennies.
• No selling data. We barely collect any — see the privacy notice.
• No paid placements dressed up as recommendations.
• No urgency theatre to push a purchase.
